Stay Well Naturally This Winter: My Go-To Remedies for the Festive Season.

ree

As the days get shorter and the air turns crisp, I feel my whole routine shift into “winter mode”; I light more candles, drink more hot drinks, and spend a lot more time indoors. But the winter months also mean my body needs a little extra support, and over the years I’ve found a handful of natural remedies that really help me stay balanced, energised, and well.

I wanted to share my favourites with you, in case you’re looking for gentle, natural ways to feel your best over the festive season.

Echinacea: My First Line of Defence

If I ever feel that familiar tickle in my throat, echinacea is the first thing I reach for. It’s a staple in my cupboard during winter, and I find it really supports my immune system when the weather turns or life gets busy.

Vitamin C: A Daily Boost I Rely On

I’m sure we all grew up being told to “take your vitamin C,” and honestly, it stuck. I take it daily, especially through winter, to help keep my energy up and support my immune health. I love getting it naturally through citrus and berries too.

Vitamin D: My Winter Essential

Because sunlight is basically a rumour in winter, vitamin D becomes a must for me. It keeps my mood more balanced and helps support my immune system. I notice a real difference when I’m consistent with it.

Honey: My Winter Comfort Ritual

Honey (Manuka if you can afford it!) is one of my favourite winter comforts. I stir a spoonful into warm lemon water (never boiling!) and it’s instantly soothing. It’s one of those little rituals that feels both cosy and supportive.

Elderberry: My Festive Favourite

There’s something so “wintery” about elderberry. I love its deep berry flavour, and it’s been traditionally used for immune support for generations. Elderberry syrups are a regular in my routine from November onwards.

Herbal Teas: My Daily Pause

Ginger for warmth, chamomile when I need calm, peppermint after all the festive snacks—herbal teas are such an easy way to support yourself in winter. I drink them throughout the day, and they double as a little moment of quiet.

Garlic: A Kitchen Hero

If you’ve ever cooked with me, you know I add garlic to everything. It’s flavourful, comforting, and a wonderful traditional remedy for winter wellness. Plus, it makes soups, casseroles, and roasts even better.

Magnesium: For Balance and Calm

When festive plans stack up, I sometimes feel my shoulders creeping up to my ears. Magnesium really helps me wind down and supports my sleep. I love adding magnesium flakes to a warm bath for a relaxing soak.

Essential Oils: My Winter Atmosphere

I adore blending essential oils in a diffuser—eucalyptus when I need clarity, lavender when I’m winding down, or orange and clove when I want the house to smell like Christmas. It’s such a simple way to shift a mood.

My Winter Promise to Myself

This time of year is magical, but it can also be overwhelming. I’ve learned that supporting myself gently—through rest, nourishing food, and natural remedies—makes the biggest difference in how I feel.

If you’re exploring natural ways to look after yourself this winter, I hope my routine gives you a few ideas. And if you ever want personalised suggestions, we're

always happy to help.

Stay warm, stay well, and enjoy every sparkle of the festive season.
